Don't raise our rates to pay for Duke's mistakes!
Join us for the rally to hear from community members about how we will be affected by this bill increase, then come to the Public Hearing to tell the North Carolina Utilities Commissioners about the negative effect of this rate increase.
5:30pm: Rally at Governmental Plaza
6:30pm: Sign up to speak at the Public Hearing
7:00pm-9:00pm: Public Hearing at the Guilford Co. Courthouse: 201 S. Eugene St. Courtroom 1C, Greensboro, NC 27401 (The NEW courthouse!)
Parking: Street parking is available and free after 6PM. Parking is also available at the Greene St deck.
These public hearings let people like us tell state officials why we object to Duke Energy's proposed electric bill increase!
This 17% bill increase proposed by Duke Energy will disproportionately impact those who can least afford it, like the 13% of N.C. families living at or below the poverty line. Duke is so focused on maximizing their profits, they've forgotten they also need to protect our communities from unjust rate hikes!
This event is in collaboration with NC Piedmont DSA, Democracy Greensboro, Sierra Club Piedmont Plateau, and Sierra Club Foothills.
